A Survey of Sorts About Kindle Vella

I just put out book six, Her Worst Nightmare of the Destroying Celie Bellamy series, and was thinking about writing a serialized story next on the new Kindle Vella platform.

When Amazon came out with the Kindle I was intrigued. I admit, I do miss turning pages or dog-earing them, but having my books so easily available on my iPad and iPhone now, I read a lot more than I used to.

So, do you like short stories, 500-5,000 words per story, that in my case, would probably end with a cliffhanger every time? If you don’t want to comment, just hit the like option and I’ll know you do.

Thank you!

  1. Hi Mairsile,
    I prefer a regular novel.

    I have a question 🙂
Are going to continue with a book 7 in the Aiden & Vicky Series.
I read all six books in 3 days! I couldn’t put them down. I didn’t get any writing done in those 3 days lol. (Almost finished my 1st WLW Cozy Mystery-I’m excited; Laura Bradford is interested from my pitch at SIWC. I hope she feels the same when she reads it 🤞)

The one thing that was a bit frustrating was re-reading pieces of what happened to Sam, Vicky, Aiden and later Vicky’s parents in the subsequent books. I know it was for the benefit for reader’s who didn’t start with the preceeding book(s). Maybe it would better to place that information as a summary in a preface for those who aren’t following the series (they really need to go back to book 1. Maybe by leaving it out that would force them back to book 1 😉 ).

Just a suggestion, because every time I hit a recap it pulled me out of the story and I had to scan to the end of it to continue reading.

I’ve enjoyed all of your novels I’ve read (15). I was a CEO of Ortho Trauma Group and Anesthesia & Pain Mgmt Groups so especially love both of the CEO hospital series!
    Thanks for your time.

    1. Hey there, Michele. Thanks for the feedback. The Aiden & Vicky Series was one of my first books and series and published almost 10 years ago. I’m sorry, but there won’t be another book in the near future. Good luck with your own writing. Mairsile
